WINTER
A wintry start to 2010
The landscape changes so much when it snows that you just have to get out there while it lasts. When this happens I go to my usual haunts and see what photographs I can get but usually I dont get it right on day one. It was the fourth day before I was happy with the result.
Normally I would try to get a new shot of Fenagh Abbey but when I saw the old Church of Ireland with great colour in the sky behind it and the surrounding beech trees dusted in snow and frost I knew it was a chance not to be missed. The sun was still below the horizon and the light a bit low so I used the tripod and a slow shutter speed which helped to saturate the colour in the sky.
